What is this?

My Cool Blog is a simple DIY template for setting up a website or blog with Eleventy, a popular Static Site Generator.

Why is this?

My Cool Blog was created with the belief that building your own website—and learning as you go—is inherently satisfying, and makes you more powerful than you could possibly imagine.

Who is this for?

This template is geared toward the coding-curious and those with a desire to get their hands a little dirty and figure out why things work the way they do, without having to create a whole site from scratch.

If you've never written HTML or CSS before, but you want to build your own website, this is for you.

The template comes setup as you see in the screenshots. You do not need to code anything from scratch, but you will need to edit what's already been set up in order to make it work.

How does it work?

An included Quick Start Guide will walk you through everything you need to do to get your site online. A few terminal commands, a little drag and drop, and you'll be up and running!

By the end, you should have your very own home on the internet that you can edit and change as you please.

This template should be everything you need to stand up a simple blog with an 
RSS feed in no time.
